Answers to common questions about having your water tank cleaned.
How often should I have my water tank cleaned?
As a general guide, water tanks should be inspected regularly and cleaned when sediment or contamination builds up. Many households choose to have their tanks cleaned every 1–2 years, depending on their water source, tank condition and surrounding environment.
Do I need to empty my tank before cleaning?
No. Please leave water in the tank for cleaning. Yuri needs at least a quarter of a tank of water, and having more water available is better.
Do you get inside the water tank?
No. Yuri cleans from outside the tank through the manhole opening, using specialised cleaning equipment. He does not enter the tank.
What access do you need?
Our cleaning equipment is portable, so we can reach most tank locations. We do need clear space above the tank manhole to manoeuvre the equipment safely. If you are unsure about access, please get in touch.
How much water do you use when cleaning?
This depends on how much sediment has built up. As a general guide, cleaning may use around a foot (30 cm) of water depth from the tank. The amount can vary between jobs.
What happens during a tank clean?
Yuri uses vacuum equipment through the manhole to remove accumulated sediment and debris from the bottom of your tank.
Do you offer water treatment?
Yes. Optional water treatment is available. Ask Yuri about this when making your booking enquiry.
What areas do you service?
We service Northland from Mangawhai through Whangārei and surrounding areas up to Kerikeri. Contact us if you are unsure whether we cover your location.
